Q: What kind of services do you offer?
A: We do all of the following:
- Repair rust areas, chips, cracks, scratches, holes, weak areas, and plumber's cut-outs.
- We refinish porcelain, fiberglass, cultured marble, formica and tile.
- We install safety strips - preferred by hotels - which are applied to the bottom of bathtubs and shower stalls to help reduce the risk of slip and fall accidents.
- We create custom tub access cutouts, where we remove the front section of a bathtub to help with easy access.
- If you don't see the service you're looking for, please give us a call.
Q: How long do I have to wait before I can use the refinished item?
A: Your bathtub can be used 48 hours after the finish was applied.
Q: What kind of maintenance does the refinished surface require?
A: Do not leave any bottles or bars of soap on the ledges. Always avoid trapping water against the surface for long periods of time. The moisture gets trapped underneath and can eat away at the glaze. Use some of those attractive holders made especially to hang in your tub or shower. Do not leave bathmats, wet towels, or rugs hanging over the side of the tub.
Cleaning Instructions
To keep your porcelain or fiberglass surfaces looking in top condition, start by throwing away all your abrasive cleaners. They are the biggest offenders in bath maintenance. Regular cleaning is suggested. Clean the surface with liquid cleaners such as 409, Dow Foam bathroom bath room cleaner, Fantastic, Lysol Tub and Tile cleaner, or other nonabrasive cleaner. For stubborn scum buildup, use a soft plastic scrub brush or nylon net scrubbers.
You may want to use a light abrasive nylon pad rather than a washcloth. We have found that an inexpensive shampoo works great because it helps cut the body oil better. Even if the tub does not look dirty, it should be cleaned regularly to remove greasy soap film.
Bathmats
If you find your new finish slippery, use a non-suction type bathmat. The suction type mat will harm your new surface. You cannot leave any bathmat on the tub for an extended period of time. If you use a bathmat, please take it out of the tub when you have finished bathing. Do not set the bathmat over the side of the bathtub. See Classic Tubs for other anti-slip products.
Leaking Faucets
Dripping water will wear through the hardest of surfaces. Make sure that your plumbing problems are fixed immediately. Constant dripping can wear down the surface and leave mineral deposits that cause damage to the surface.
Q: Does the refinishing come with some kind of warranty?
A: Classic Tub Repairs, Inc. warranties its workmanship for a period of three (3) years from the date of completion on residential jobs. This warranty is limited by problems resulting from customer damage, abuse, rust, leaky faucets, and/or other plumbing problems, and non-compliance with the care and maintenance instructions. A service fee may be charged for non-warranty work completed. Any settlement will be prorated over the warranty period. This warranty is limited to the original owner unless a transfer of warranty is completed and approved by Classic Tub Repairs, Inc. Classic Tub Repairs, Inc. shall not be liable for incidental, special, or consequential damages. All repair work is warranted for a period of (90) ninety days.
